Running a station is free, and listening is always free. Premium is for stations whose audience has found them in radio apps and car radios.

One hour of one person listening to your station through its MP3 stream at icy.aweradio.app. That is the stream radio apps, car radios, smart speakers and directories like radio-browser.info play. Ten people listening for an hour is ten hours. Listening on aweradio.app and in the AWE Radio apps is never counted.
Web and app listening reaches your listeners through a network that costs us nothing per listener. Radio apps need a classic MP3 stream that we send out ourselves, and every hour of it costs us bandwidth. The free hours cover most stations comfortably; Premium is for the ones that outgrow them.
New radio-app listeners hear a short note pointing them to your station page, where it keeps playing, until the 1st of the next month. Listening on the web and in our apps carries on as normal, and the Radio apps card in your station's Settings shows it.
No. You choose the most you want to spend on extra hours each month in Settings, and the default is 20 EUR or USD or 200 SEK. Set it to 0 and you never pay more than the monthly price. Extra hours appear on the next invoice.
Premium is billed monthly through Stripe and follows the calendar month, so your first month is charged only for the days left in it. Cancel any time under Settings, Billing and invoices, and Premium stays on until the end of the month you paid for. If a payment fails, your station is never taken off air; it moves back to the free plan. The details are in our terms.

Yes. You are responsible for the right to broadcast what you play, on any plan. See Music and licensing.
